Android Auto is a driver-friendly interface from your phone, designed for use while driving. It shows a simplified version of your phone on the head unit, focusing on safety and voice control.

Important to know: Only selected apps are supported, and features are intentionally limited to reduce driver distraction.

Apple CarPlay mirrors key functions from your iPhone in a safer, driving-focused layout.

Like Android Auto, CarPlay uses your phone's GPS and mobile data.
Limitations: CarPlay only supports approved apps and simplified layouts. For full app freedom and standalone use, the built-in Android system is the key advantage.

Vhedia head units are designed for easy DIY installation. Each kit includes vehicle-specific plug-and-play wiring adaptors, control modules where required, and trim removal tools to avoid damaging interior panels.
In most cases, installation involves matching plugs and connecting them — no cutting or splicing required.
You may still need basic tools such as a screwdriver or socket set. If you're not comfortable using basic tools, we recommend professional installation.
All units support Australian FM and AM radio out of the box.
For DAB+ digital radio, an optional plug-in module is available. It plugs into the back of the head unit and includes a windscreen-mounted antenna.
Each unit has a built-in GPS receiver, allowing navigation without a phone. By default, Google Maps is installed, but you can install multiple navigation apps, choose your preferred default, and use offline navigation for remote travel (e.g. Hema 4×4 Maps).
When using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, navigation is handled by your phone instead.
Vhedia head units include an advanced built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor), allowing you to improve factory speaker sound, fine-tune EQ and sound staging, and optimise music playback for clarity and depth.
The DSP also improves call quality by enhancing microphone pickup while reducing background noise, helping voices sound clearer both ways.
Split screen allows you to view two apps at the same time — for example navigation on one side and music/media on the other. Most apps support split-screen mode, making multitasking easy.

Unit sent to me was latest version. Much of the support material was for older versions which made installation and set up a little more complicated. Nonetheless, support provided by phone was excellent.
Sorry about that, mate. We’re transitioning some of the head units to our newer version. We’ll take note of this and improve our materials in the future.
Had a couple of teething problems but Arthur sorted everything out. Seriously good after sales support. I would not hesitate to recommend Vhedia to anyone
With 2 wiring looms in the kit it was a little overwhelming. Would have been a lot easier if you only included the loom for my vehicle. Apart from that I love the new unit.
